劉金蕙老師 Ms. Vincy Lau
Ms. Vincy Lau was born in Hong Kong and immigrated to the UK in 2005. She has a higher diploma in pre-primary education from Hong Kong Polytechnic University and in 2003, she gained the Teaching Chinese as a Foreign Language certificate from Ming Ai (London) Institute which was accredited by Middlesex University. Ms. Lau has over 30 years of teaching experience and has worked for several high profile early years school in Hong Kong. She has been teaching at London Hackney Chinese Community School since September 2005.
Ms. Lau’s early years knowledge and experience has enabled her to help children achieve their learning goals through various fun activities and peer interaction and, at the same time take account of children’s different needs.
Apart from teaching elementary-level Cantonese, Ms. Lau also actively engages her students in singing and dancing activities. She also heads our Chinese Calligraphy class teaching both students and parents the art of Chinese Calligraphy and our break-time quiz game which is a firm student favourite.
In October 2012, Ms. Lau was awarded the ‘Best Teacher Award’ from the United Kingdom Association for the Promotion of Chinese Education, in recognition of her strong commitment to delivering great teaching for her students.
